PCA Updates
Congratulations to the 25 local student-athletes who embody the Triple-Impact Competitor® model of making themselves, their teammates, and their sport better!
Tampa— Positive Coaching Alliance-Tampa Bay – the local chapter of the national non-profit Positive Coaching Alliance that develops “Better Athletes, Better People” through youth and high school sports – has named 25 Tampa Bay-area student-athletes from the high school class of 2020 as Qualifiers for the Triple-Impact Competitor® Scholarship Awards Presented by Sagicor Life Insurance Company.
“Sagicor Life Insurance Company continues to be a great supporter of PCA and kids in our Tampa Bay community, and we are incredibly thankful they are yet again fully underwriting this year’s scholarships,” said Mason Cathey Brady, Executive Director of PCA - Tampa Bay. “Our scholarship committee and local mentors had a tough time narrowing down our applicant field, yet we are very excited about this year’s class of 25 Qualifiers! We look forward to getting to know these deserving student-athletes much more in the spring.”
PCA aims to show student-athletes how to use their athletic leadership status to benefit others. Selected Qualifiers will continue their participation in the year-long program, gaining professional skills by interviewing with business leaders and mentors, completing phone, video and personal interviews, promoting their school or club athletic team, and giving back to their communities with volunteer service to Park & Recreation centers.
“Each year, I am continually amazed by the extraordinary student-athletes and their commitment to their sport, academics and community — and this group is no exception,” said Bart Catmull, President of Sagicor Life Insurance Company. “Over the years, I’ve watched these young adults develop into such active contributors in their communities, and they inspire me to make what we do matter even more. I look forward to getting to know each of these individuals in 2020.”
Sagicor Life Insurance Company is in the business of helping family, friends, and neighbors protect their loved ones by providing expert advice and quality life and annuity products. Sagicor’s corporate vision is “To be a great company committed to enhancing the lives of the people in the communities in which we operate.”
