Mitchell Cohen currently serves as Managing Director of Trilogy Search Partners, LLC, a private equity firm that backs search fund entrepreneurs. He is formerly a Managing Director at Hellman & Friedman LLC, a private equity firm headquartered in San Francisco.

He joined Hellman & Friedman as an Associate in 1989 and became a General Partner in 1992. He serves on the Boards of Directors of many for-profit companies, as well as numerous non-profit organizations, including Marin Community Foundation and the University of Virginia Investment Management Company. He has also served in leadership positions at the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco, Marin Academy, Marin Country Day School, and Congregation Emanu-El. He graduated from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia and lives with his wife in Ross, California and has three older children.
