Dr. Bucciarelli grew up in Gainesville, FL and attended the University of Florida for both undergrad and medical school (UF Health Shands Hospital) and has his MBA from Duke. He is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Room Physicians. He remains a practicing emergency medicine physician with BayCare Health System and more recently became more involved in administration for BayCare as the Chief Medical Officer for St. Joseph’s Hospital-North in Lutz, Fl and St. Joseph’s Hospital- South in Riverview, FL.

He grew up playing soccer and football and had influential coaches that helped him develop as a doctor, leader, family member, and community citizen.

As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Bucciarelli assists doctors in providing safe, effective medical care to the public. His responsibilities include training new physicians on the hospital’s policies and keeping staff current on health regulations. He’ll also provide clinical oversight to physicians, ensure regulatory compliance, and evaluate quality of services.

Dr. Bucciarelli says he draws strength, support, and added motivation from his wife Julie, a dermatology nurse practitioner, their new baby, and Tucker, their golden retriever. He said Julie was the one who encouraged him to pursue his MBA to broaden his knowledge and she’s always been very supportive of his career along the way.
